April has been a very busy month for both clients and staff. There’s been some great achievements and lots of updates, so read on to find out all about them.

      Client updates

      Sponsored walk

As Lee’s charity walk for Headway draws near, with less than four weeks to go, we are filled with admiration for his dedication. He’s been pushing his limits in training sessions and long walks, all in preparation for his 10-mile hike. It is truly inspiring to witness his commitment to supporting those living with brain injury.

We are sharing Lee’s JustGiving link once more, offering you the chance to join in supporting his incredible effort. Let’s rally behind Lee and Headway!

      You can donate here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/lee-welch-1?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL&utm_campaign=015

Every contribution, big or small, fuels Headway’s vital work and empowers brain injury survivors. Your support will also inspire Lee as he takes on this challenge.

         Liam’s deadlift

A few months back, we posted about our client Liam, who had achieved the incredible target of deadlifting 105kg – double his body weight. We are now pleased to share that Liam has reached another personal best of deadlifting 115kg! Liam always works hard in his sessions and with his focus and determination, we know that it won’t be too long before he’s achieving new goals.

          Kyle’s cakes

Over the last few months, Kyle has been working hard behind the scenes in the kitchen, creating his own selection of protein based ‘snacks’. We are now happy to announce that Kyle has finalised his recipes, with him now in the final stages of design and packaging before hitting our shelves at the gym.

            Staff updates

            Craig

On the 18th May our company director – Craig Barker – will be taking on the Manchester 10k run. Good luck, we have no doubt his race will be a success.

            Cam

This month we’d like to extend our congratulations to Cam who successfully passed his level 2 Fitness instructor practical exam. As most of you know, Cam also works full time as a support worker for those with brain injuries, and so the fact that he has still managed to find time to both study and shadow our PT’s is testament to his dedication and passion as a person.

Cam, we’re incredibly proud of your achievements these past few months and are excited to support you as you progress in your new career.

            Brain injury training

This month our team took part in some brain injury training, led by Neuropsychologist – Dr Claire Mcdonald. This training focused on providing the team with an overview of the brain and its cognitive functions, the emotional, cognitive and behavioural consequences of brain injury, as well as providing the team with strategies to help support and encourage our clients.

This training was both informative and interesting, providing valuable insights that will help us better understand our clients’ daily challenges. It has empowered us to adopt a more flexible and adaptive approach to our coaching, ensuring we create a safe and supportive training environment for everyone.

              Gym Group

This month has seen the introduction of a few new members at our Friday gym group. We’re incredibly grateful for the warm welcome our existing members have shown to these new additions. It’s truly heartwarming to see that our commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming space for individuals with brain injuries is flourishing. We’re filled with gratitude for each and every new and returning member. It is your shared enthusiasm, determination and love of fitness that helps create this special community

                Business updates

                Rugby Sponsorship

Last month, we had the pleasure of sponsoring Leigh Miner Rangers U11’s Girls team. Not only is it great to support another area of fitness, but one of Craig’s daughters also plays for the team so it’s fantastic to be able to show our support for her and all the other players.

                  System update

As we grow as a business, it is important that we also adapt and evolve to meet the demands of this growth, and so this month we have switched over to a new admin system.

This change allows us to enhance our business operations by streamlining various procedures, including billing, session notes and expenses, ensuring that nothing is missed. With the increasing demand of our service, this upgrade will provide us with greater functionality and efficiency, enabling us to better serve our clients and manage day-to-day tasks seamlessly.

                  New office space

A part of our service which is becoming increasingly popular is sports massage, and so we are excited to share that we have acquired a new office space in Try fitness, which will soon become our new treatment room.

Our sports therapist and sports masseuse apprentice have been working hard, creating a list of items required to transform the room into a functional and relaxing space.

Watch this space for progress photos of our room transformation.
