October Newsletter

October has been a very fun and exciting month for everyone at CB Neuro Fitness. From the launch of a new boxing group, lots of client and staff progress and a very spooktacular gym group session, there’s been a lot going on. Read on to find out more.

      New Walking group

This month, we are excited to be launching our new ‘Walk and Talk’ group. The group will be led by Jade, who has dedicated time to planning and mapping out routes to ensure they are accessible to all our clients. The first walk will take place at Entwistle reservoir on November 17th at 1pm and will be followed by a relaxing cup of tea and a chat at the local Strawberry Duck pub. This is a great chance to socialise while enjoying the outdoors. Feel free to bring friends, family, and even your dogs along for the walk!

          Boxing Group

Last month, we launched our new ABI non-contact boxing group in collaboration with Heads Up Therapies. The initial sessions have been a great success and has seen the introduction of several new clients to the gym, who are already enjoying the dynamic and supportive community we foster here at CBfitness. We have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from our clients, their support staff and wider team, all of whom have praised the group’s engaging structure and friendly, inclusive environment.

              Client Updates

              Tom

We want to share some incredibly motivating feedback we’ve had from our client Tom’s case manager. Tom has now successfully lost over 2 stone, reaching a weight his case manager says is the lowest they’ve seen him at in over 10 years, as well as noting a significant improvement in his movement and daily structure. This fantastic progress is a testament to Tom’s dedication and the effective work he has been doing with our Personal Trainer Jade and his support team around diet and physical activity. Well done Tom!

              Sam

Our team always work incredibly hard, and we love to share client success stories that highlight their dedication. This month, Sam, a client who began working with our PT Chris Coupe just one month ago, has reported how much he is enjoying his sessions and that he already feels he’s improving in his lifts and techniques. A brilliant testament to the focused and effective work our Personal Trainers deliver. Great work, Chris!

                Halloween Gym Group

With Halloween landing perfectly on a Friday this year, the stage was set for a truly spooktacular gym session, and we certainly delivered! The workout itself was specially themed, turning standard exercises into zombie squats & mummy walks.

The entire CB Fitness team fully embraced the spirit of the holiday, trading in our usual gym clothes for an array of creative and hilarious costumes. Our very own Cam, however, took the costume commitment to an entirely new level. Not content with just one look, Cam cycled through three different fantastic outfits throughout the session!

                  Staff Updates

                  Lily

We are thrilled to welcome back Lily to the team after her incredible six-week adventure travelling around Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Australia! We’ve definitely missed having her around the gym and we’re sure our clients are just as excited to see her and can’t wait to get back in the clinic with her for their pre and post-gym group sports massages. We hope she had an amazing trip, and we can’t wait to hear all about her travelling adventures!

                  Chris Moulder

Good luck to our sports therapist, Chris Moulder, who is starting up his own clinic in November. We want to acknowledge the outstanding work he has done with us over the years. Although he won’t be around the groups or mobile anymore, he’ll still be seeing our clients at his new premises. Good luck, Chris.

                      Kyle’s Cakes

Kyle’s delicious protein-based snacks are still available for purchase at the gym! He provides a selection of treats perfect for a pre-workout energy kick or a post-workout refuel. Be sure to grab one on your next visit.

                      Protein snacks available for £2.50:

                      • Banana bread cookies,
                      • Chocolate banana bread cookies,
                      • Brownies

                        Staff training – Autism

Last month, a few members of our team took part in Tier 2 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) training. ASD and brain injuries present with similar symptoms and underlying mechanisms, including challenges with learning, sensory processing, social judgment, communication, and behavioral regulation. The training was run by Lindsey at Autizma and was a highly informative session, which provided our team with a fresh perspective on living with a brain injury.
