February Newsletter
February has been a particularly good month for us all here at CB Fitness, with an exciting annoucement about the future of the company, as well as plenty of fantastic staff and client updates. Read on below to find out more.
New Gym/CB Fitness Community
Over the past month, a great deal has been happening behind the scenes, and we’re delighted to finally share some exciting news. We have acquired a gym, which brings us one step closer to a long-held dream: creating a truly inclusive neuro gym hub. Our vision has always been about more than just personal training and rehabilitation. We want to build a welcoming space where people with neurological conditions can come together to socialise, make connections, and feel part of a supportive community. This new acquisition allows us to turn that vision into reality.
As part of this next step, we are pleased to announce the launch of CB Fitness Community CIC, a community-based company dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive neuro gym hub for individuals living with neurological conditions. Between the hours of 11am and 4:30pm, we will expand our current offerings, including personal training, ABI boxing, gym sessions, and walking groups, while also creating a space where individuals can attend with their support staff to train in a supportive environment. The hub will also provide opportunities for physiotherapists to carry out assessments, and for occupational therapists and speech and language therapists to observe and assess community engagement and social skills within a gym setting.
Although this is just the beginning, we are incredibly excited to see where this journey leads after thinking about and planning it for so long.
Client Achievements
At CB Fitness, our clients’ successes are at the heart of everything we do. Their achievements are our inspiration, and we believe every single milestone deserves a full celebration by our entire community. So with that, here are some honourable mentions this month:
DP
Since November 2025, DP has been working with Jade and set himself the goal of achieving one full push-up and one full pull-up. As part of his journey towards completing a pull-up, they have been focusing on improving his grip strength, using a dead hang as a key measure of progress. When they first started, DP was able to hold his body weight for just three seconds. To help build his grip strength, Jade incorporated exercises such as farmer’s carries, suitcase carries and plate pinches into his training sessions. In just four months, DP has made fantastic progress, increasing his dead hang time from three seconds to an impressive 50 seconds. This is a remarkable achievement in such a short space of time, and Jade is incredibly pleased with DP’s work ethic, dedication and the progress he has made toward his goals.
AJ
At the start of February, our PT Jason began working with AJ, who wanted to use his sessions to complete higher-intensity training under the supervision of a coach while improving his overall fitness to help maintain his body weight. Since beginning their sessions, Jason has reported some fantastic progress. AJ has increased his boxing time by 50% while working at a higher intensity, improved his sled push strength by 36%, and achieved an incredible 366% increase in his cable row strength. These results in such a short space of time are a true testament to AJ’s hard work and dedication to his training, as well as Jason’s well-planned sessions that have been carefully tailored to AJ’s strengths and goals
AH
AH has been working with Craig since last year following the fitting of his prosthetic limb. As an amputee, AH initially found the adjustment challenging and experienced a lack of confidence when walking with his prosthetic – relying on walking aids for support. However, during a recent session, AH achieved a significant milestone by completing several lengths of walking without the use of his sticks. This is a fantastic step forward and reflects both his resilience and the growing confidence he has developed over time. Craig is incredibly pleased to see this progress and is proud of the determination AH has shown throughout his rehabilitation journey
Welcome Bianca and Faye!
We are delighted to announce the expansion of our team as we continue to grow and prepare for the launch of the CB Fitness Community. Please join us in welcoming Bianca, a personal trainer who is joining us as an associate. Bianca brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team, and we are very much looking forward to working with her. We are confident she will be a fantastic addition to CB Fitness and will play an important role in supporting our clients.
We would also like to welcome Faye, a highly experienced neuro physiotherapist, who is joining us to support the team by providing clinical guidance for our staff. Her expertise will help us further enhance the way we support our clients in achieving their rehabilitation goals. Faye’s addition brings an extra layer of therapeutic support to our services, enabling us to deliver the highest standard of care possible to the people we work with.
Dorset Training
Last month, some of our team members had the opportunity to attend a fantastic training session delivered by Dorset Orthopaedics. The course was specifically designed with personal trainers in mind, focusing on how to effectively support clients who have experienced an amputation and use a prosthetic limb during both training and rehabilitation.
The training covered a theory-based introduction to the fundamentals of amputation and its impact on movement, followed by guidance on early prosthetic rehabilitation and the importance of stability. The day concluded with a practical session exploring exercise adaptations to better support clients with prosthetic limbs.
It was an incredibly insightful and valuable training experience, and we are looking forward to putting everything we learned into practice. A big thank you to Dorset Orthopaedics for delivering such an excellent training programme.
