August Newsletter

August has been a bit of a quieter month, no doubt due to the many well deserved summer holidays both our clients and staff have been enjoying. As we go into September, we hope everyone is feeling refreshed and looking forward to taking on the new goals and challenges ahead.

      Fitness groups

Following the success and growth of our Gym group, we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to expand the scope of services we offer to both our clients and the wider community. We wanted to offer a wider range of classes that would cater to different interests and needs, whilst still providing the sense of community and fun that the Gym Group does. Below are the new groups we will be introducing soon:

      • Boxing Group: Craig will be working in collaboration with Matt Vark – from Heads up therapies – to run weekly boxing classes to be run from Try Fitness in Leigh on a Tuesday.

      • Walk & Talk group: Led by Jade we will be carrying out weekly scenic walks followed by a visit to a local cafe for a coffee and chat.

      • Yoga social group: Ran by a qualified neurological physio and yoga teacher and supported by Jade. Weekly yoga classes followed by an optional social event in which you can have a chat and coffee with others.

For more information on session dates and times, please keep an eye on our social media pages and website.

          Staff Updates

          Cam

We want to extend a huge congratulations to Cam on becoming a fully qualified Level 2 Gym Instructor! This achievement is a testament to his incredible hard work and dedication. We’ve all seen the effort he’s put in, and it’s truly paid off. Cam’s natural ability to build strong relationships with clients is remarkable, and it’s clear they appreciate his support and guidance. We’re incredibly proud to have him as part of the team and look forward to seeing him continue to excel in his new role.

            Rosa

We are pleased to introduce Rosa, the newest member of our team! Rosa is not only a qualified sports massage therapist but also an experienced personal trainer, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to CB Neuro Fitness. Her extensive understanding of nutrition, coupled with her ownership of a meal prep company, makes her a fantastic addition to the team as well as a great resource for our clients seeking comprehensive support.

              Client Achievements

This month, we’re shining the spotlight on one of our clients, Aaron, who is training for a 5k run. Aaron has previously completed a 10k in his wheelchair, and is now taking on the challenge of running his next race. This is particularly difficult for Aaron due to spasticity and dystonia in his left leg, which has a significant impact on his ability to run and walk. In sessions, he is currently building up tolerance on the treadmill, walking at various inclines as well as strengthening his lower limbs, which is crucial for establishing and maintaining a correct and efficient gait pattern.

                Other News

Earlier this year, we welcomed Jack, a student who completed his work experience with us. He worked alongside Craig and Jade, shadowing sessions, joining our gym group, and planning drills for the ABI football group. Jack enjoyed his time so much that he volunteered to return for the summer holidays, where he became more involved in the football group, leading drills and taking the lead on our gym group. His hard work and growing confidence, along with his great rapport with clients, were evident. Jack has now returned to education for a sporting qualification but has expressed his desire to return during future holidays. Here’s what Jack had to say about his time here at CBfitness:

“After having work experience at CBneurofitness, I learnt so much about different aspects of fitness, brain injuries and how to improve my coaching. The kind people and fun vibes around the whole company gave me no excuse but to come back and help out. The team has helped me develop my skills so much and the clients are lovely people who I have developed strong bonds with. Thank you for this great experience and I can’t wait to do it all again soon”.
